October 6, 2025 – Macon, GA – Nichiha USA today announced its decision to partially close its manufacturing facility in Macon (Plant 1), effective October 6, 2025.
This decision comes after a thorough review of the company’s long-term business priorities and future competitiveness. While production at the Macon facility (Plant 1), which is dedicated to residential business, will cease, certain functions and will transition to the remaining Macon facility (Plant 2), the plant dedicated to commercial structures business. Plant 2 will continue to operate and serve as the hub for Nichiha USA’s future growth and expansion in the United States.
Nichiha USA emphasized that it remains firmly committed to Georgia and to Macon-Bibb County. The company will continue to invest in the region, create jobs, and contribute positively to the local economy through the ongoing operation of Plant 2.
The company also reaffirmed its commitment to both the Residential and Commercial markets. In the Residential sector, Nichiha USA will continue to strengthen its presence through the AWP product line, which remains a core part of its strategy. In the Commercial sector, the company plans to accelerate expansion, focusing resources where strong growth potential has been identified.
Unfortunately, the closure of Plant 1 will impact some employees. Nichiha USA expressed its deep appreciation for the dedication and contributions of all employees and confirmed that support will be provided to those directly affected during this transition.
